"Overcome" Wins "Best of 2005" Award...

Hi Everyone,

I have some great news to share. My latest CD, Overcome, just won the LifeStyle Music Award for "Best Instrumental (Piano) Album" of 2005.

The LifeStyle Music Awards are presented by New Age Reporter, which is the "Billboard Magazine" of the NewAge/Ambient/World/Instrumental/ music market.

The nominations are made and voted on by radio programmers who are playing the CDs. So, in other words, Overcome was voted the best piano album of the year by the DJ's playing the music. So cool, eh?

I was really surprised that I won as I was up against some formidable competition, including Montana: A Love Story by George Winston. I thought for sure George Winston's CD would win it, hands down. But, as ESPN announcer Chris Berman often says, "That's why they play the game." :)

Also last month, Overcome made it on Kathy Parson's "Top 20 Piano Albums of 2005" list. Kathy is a reviewer for Solo Piano Publications and listens to and reviews a large number of albums every year. So what a treat to be included.

Here's her full list...

Songs For Emelie - Marcus Loeber
Overcome - David Nevue
Mystical America - Laura Sullivan
Smoke On the Horizon - Jonathan Dimsdale
Jace Vek Live - Jace Vek
Christian Calcatelli - Christian Calcatelli
Wind Chimes - Greg Maroney
Observations in the Woods - Wayne Kelling
Blue West - Philip Aaberg
Christmas At Our House - Michael Dulin
Forever Young - George Skaroulis
Soul to Soul - Wayne Gratz
Imagination's Light - Kevin Kern
Spirit Romance - David Lanz & Gary Stroutsos
The Elements Series: Water - Peter Kater
A Tribute to Gershwin & Friends - Michael Allen Harrison
Sounds From the Wishing Well - Patrick Gorman
Allure of Sanctuary - Karen Marie Garrett
Loss - Wendel Werner
Two Sides - Marcus Loeber

There are some GREAT albums on that list. I've heard most of them.

Well, that's it for today. I just thought I'd share the happy news.
